BOE Filing Management Software

What is Bill of Entry (BOE)

Bill of Entry (BOE), also known as a shipping bill, is an account of goods entered regarding imports and exports with customs department. The importer or customs broker will have to file a BOE in order to clear a customs clearance to claim ITC on the goods. BOE is issued to the importers by the customs department, providing the total assigned value and the corresponding duty charged on the cargo.

When goods are imported from a country, importers are required to pay customs duty by the value of goods, quantity, and description. Customs authorities may ask for even more details like invoice and insurance policy to ensure the value of goods declared. The companies that import the goods from the other countries or the companies that purchase goods from SEZ and sell them in India should file a Bill of Entry.

Procedure:

The importer has to file a bill of entry in 4 copies to clear the goods for domestic consumption.
2 copies for customs (Original and duplicate).
Third copy for the importer.
Fourth for the bank for making remittances
